In Côte d'Ivoire, the processing of personal data is governed by Law No. 2013-450 of 19 June 2013. It grants you eight rights that any organisation processing your data must respect.
Prior information
An organisation must tell you clearly what it will do with your data before collecting it.
Prior consent
Processing is only legitimate if the person concerned has consented to it.
Right of access
You can obtain the data collected about you.
Right to portability
You can retrieve your data in a usable format.
Right to object
You can refuse the processing of your data on legitimate grounds.
Rectification and deletion
You can have inaccurate or incomplete data corrected or erased.
Right to erasure
You can request the removal of publicly indexed information about you.
Right to complain
You can refer the matter to the data protection authority if your rights are not respected.
